I was hesitant to buy because of the reviews that said they came with stains, or handles ripped, etc. But every oneof the bags was clean and in perfect shape. I used them for an art class - the kids (ages 7-12) stamped them using fruit and acrylic paint. They came out beautifully! One suggestion - the canvas is a bit thin, so put a piece of cardboard inside when painting. I wouldn't use them for heavy groceries, but they will be perfect for school supplies, papers, or coloring books and crayons.
